Chapter 526 Arrogant

Cayden's expression hardened when he faced the aggressive personnel. He pulled his tie without any expression, ignoring them.

With everyone's gazes focused on him, Cayden stood out compared to the others. He prepared to leave, protected by his bodyguards.

“Stand still, Mr. Moore. You're suspected of involving in a massive bribery case. Please cooperate by coming with us to the public prosecutor's office for further investigations.” A young prosecutor passed through multiple obstacles quickly and blocked Cayden's path.

Xavier, wearing his gold-rimmed glasses, was standing beside Cayden. With a gentle smile, he spoke sharply. “Please be mindful of your words, Sir. Mr. Moore has a clear conscience and doesn't do anything illegal. Please understand that the crime of slandering is no minor offense.”

Xavier gave the public prosecutor a once-over. The latter was young, around twenty-four to twenty-five years old. He had a childish, round face, which made it evident that he was a rookie.

He's still so young. I admire his courage in shouting at Mr. Moore.

Seeing that Cayden simply ignored him and was still looking arrogant, the prosecutor flew into a rage out of humiliation. “Cayden Moore, do you still think of yourself as the CEO of Trident Group? No, you're not! You're a criminal now. Please cooperate with our investigations!”

Xavier's face dropped. His voice was frosty when he spoke. “Sir, please show us your arrest warrant before apprehending Mr. Moore! You're just a mere prosecutor who has no evidence to indict Mr. Moore of his crime, so how dare you barge into our company just like this?”

Upon shooting a cold glance at the prosecutor, Cayden ignored him and walked toward his car.

I don't have any time to waste, nor do I want to talk to these people. I need to visit Grandpa at the hospital. Does this prosecutor know that people of his level usually don't have the right to meet me? Is he delusional for wanting to take me away? But then again, Sid should have arrived at the Department of Justice and should be executing our plan by now if things go as planned.

Cayden relaxed, knowing Sid was in charge.

Noticing that Cayden was about to leave, the prosecutor extended his hand and roared, “The audacity of you to disrespect civil servants, Cayden Moore! Stand there! You're not allowed to leave.”

The moment the prosecutor tried to grab Cayden's arm, Xavier stopped him by holding onto his wrist. “I'm warning you, Mr. Moore is busy, and his time is precious. If you can't provide enough evidence to call for his arrest, I can sue you for harassment. Mr. Moore doesn't have the time to fool around with you people!”

Seconds later, a sound of a bone getting cracked sounded. Xavier had dislocated the prosecutor's wrist.

Kendrick, who had been tagging along, had a frosty expression on his face. “Get an arrest warrant if you can. Otherwise, please return to where you came from. Trident Group is not a place for you to barge in and act boorishly!”

Then, he lifted the prosecutor's collar and threw him out.

The prosecutor held his aching wrist and shouted through gritted teeth, “This is outrageous! I'm going to sue you!”

Just then, a mature-looking man in his thirties that exuded sharp wittiness and calmness strolled out from the crowd.

He said, “Mr. Moore, I'm sorry to disturb you during your working hours, but my higher-ups have ordered me to bring you in for investigation. Please cooperate with us. Otherwise, we must turn to coercive measures as a last resort.”

Cayden glanced at him as impatience built up in his eyes. He waved his hand, and his bodyguards instantly surrounded the prosecutors. He then got into his Rolls-Royce boldly.

Those public officials were stopped by the bodyguards and were so angry that they almost coughed out blood.

What an arrogant man!

Xavier got into the driver's seat, and off they went. He took out a newspaper from a pile and handed it to Cayden. “Mr. Moore, this is the news for today.”

Cayden scanned through the news quickly. His eyes turned frosty, and the veins on his temples throbbed when he saw the content. His overpowering aura caused Xavier to feel uneasy, and he couldn't help but tense up. Even though he had been working alongside Cayden for years and was older than him, Xavier still couldn't maintain his composure before a frustrated Cayden.

Xavier turned on the television in the car. Splashed across the news headline of the multiple local TV networks was the news of Nicole trying to end her life. They, too, broadcasted information about Nicole's relationship with Cayden, how Cayden had a mistress, how he wronged Nicole, and how hurt she was after being abandoned.
