Summary of The Day Our Promise Breaks

Evelyn's life unravels as her daughter, Charlie, battles kidney failure. Charlie's final wish is heartbreakingly simple: to spend her birthday with her father, Charles, at an amusement park. Evelyn pleads with Charles to honor their daughter's wish, and he agrees.

But on her birthday, Charles never shows up. Charlie waits in the freezing cold until she collapses, coughing up blood. She later passes away, her final words questioning why her father loves another child more than her.
